Arkells- I'm Not The Sun

I'll be honest here, I don't listen to many Canadian bands. I'M SORRY! ITS NOT THEM ITS ME!
...well...it is kinda them....BUT ANYWAYS when my friend told me about a band by the name of the Arkells, I do admit I was skeptical and a tad stereotypical. I was concerned that my eardrums would be flooded with bagpipes and fiddle tunes. (Not that he listens to that...AT ALL) but I was worried. I was happy however to find that it wasn't Celtic dancing tunes, but a cacophony of brilliance in lyrics and warm, rich indie rock sound. I actually started listening to their second album "Michigan Left" first and then on Saturday I finally got their first album "Jackson Square" and I actually curled up in my room and listened to the whole thing in an afternoon. Again I was blown away by everything on the album, I fell in love with "I'm Not The Sun" instantly. Its such a beautiful song, one that you could fall asleep or slow dance to.
Ahhhh summer, I love thee.
